Dr Petra has over 20 years’ experience and has come to us from Western Australia with great knowledge and skills. Enjoys working with young families as well as managing health of patients with chronic illnesses, assessments including advice and treatments for complex medical requirements.
General Practioner
Dr Alex Burk has 25 years experience as a rural GP and has been working in Gippsland for much of his time. Dr Alex likes the (Canadian) term “Family Physician” and has had many interesting experiences. Many years were spent in rural locum work including Royal Flying Doctors Service (RFDS), isolated Northern Canada and a ships doctor in the Antarctic twice. Alex has also been an examiner for the RACGP (GP) college exam for many years.
Specialist General Surgeon
Mr Saifulla Syed is a General and Breast Surgeon and Endoscopist with board certified training from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS). Following his General Surgery training Mr Syed subspecialised in Breast Oncoplastic Surgery by completing a Breast Fellowship at Canberra, and is a member of Breast Surgeons of Australia and New Zealand (BrSurg ANZ) and Australasian Society of Breast Diseases (ASBD). He is also a GESA certified colonoscopist.
He specialises in breast disease (management of breast cancer, benign breast conditions, nipple discharge, fibroadenoma, breast pain). His other clinical interests include gastroscopy and colonoscopy, and general surgery (including carpal tunnel release, vasectomy, lumps and bumps, skin cancers, ingrown toe nail, varicose veins).
Besides clinical work, Mr Syed is passionate about teaching and training junior doctors. He is a member of Academy of Surgical Educators at the College of Surgeons and is involved in teaching and mentoring medical students and junior doctors.
General Practitioner
Dr Nicholas Linklater is currently taking a pathway towards becoming a fellowed general practitioner. Nick has a Masters degree in skin cancer, to which he has written and published articles in the Journal of Surgery. Nick is a member of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM), Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) & Skin Cancer College Australasia (SCCA), accrediting him to look after your skin cancer needs. Dr Linklater attends clinical conferences that enhance his skill set to provide optimal care to all his patients. Being a family man, he has interests in general health and disease prevention in the local community.
